The Summit , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 579min
On 1 August, 2008, 18 climbers from across the world reached the summit of K2, the world's second-highest and most dangerous mountain - a peak that claims the life of one in every four climbers who attempt it. Over the course of 28 hours K2 had exacted a deadly toll: 11 lives were lost in a series of catastrophic accidents. Over the course of three days, a Nepalese Sherpa called Pemba Gyalje, along with five other Sherpas, was at the center of a series of attempts to rescue climbers who had become trapped in the Death Zone, unable to escape its clutches and debilitated by oxygen deprivation, chronic fatigue, delirium and a terrifying hopelessness. The tragedy became a controversy as the survivors walked from the catastrophe on the mountain into an international media storm, in which countless different stories emerged, some contradictory and many simply untrue. Based on Pemba Gyalje's eyewitness account and drawing on a series of interviews with the survivors which were conducted for the award-winning documentary The Summit. The Summit: How Triumph Turned to Tragedy on K2's Deadliest Days is the most comprehensive interpretation of one of modern-day mountaineering's most controversial disasters. ungekürzt. Fall Forever
(LP) Fear of Mans dunkles und sehr modernes Pop-Album wurde mit Tom Morris (Bloc Party, Outfit, Glass Animals und Woman's Hour) in London aufgenommen.2016 sees the return of Fear of Men with Fall Forever , an album that builds on the melodicism of their acclaimed debut album Loom and takes it in a bold and modern direction, pushing the limits of their instruments to take on new and alien forms. After extensively touring in support of their acclaimed debut album, Fear of Men decamped in the early months of 2015 to an outbuilding of a disused abattoir in rural Kent, England, to begin work on new material. A two hour bus ride from theirnative Brighton and a black hole for cell signal, such an environment was fitting for a band determined to strip their sound back to the bone and build it up to make an album that would, on their live return, make the stage shake. On Fall Forever Fear of Men twisted together sounds and influences from a variety of genres to create their own vision of a dark and modern pop record. Working with producer Tom Morris to gain clarity and presence, they focused on core sounds instead of layers, while still incorporating textures and details that can be discovered upon repeat listens. 'Fall Forever, co-produced by Tom Morris and Daniel Falvey, is out June 3, 2016 on Kanine Records TRACKS: 1. Vesta 2. Undine 3. Island 4. A Memory 5. Until You 6. Ruins 7. Trauma 8. Erase (Aubade) 9.
