Myers was one of the first captured. After a brutal three-year encampment, Myers and his fellow POWs were forced onto an enemy hell ship bound for Japan. Suffocation, malnutrition, disease, dehydration, infestation, madness, and simple despair claimed the lives of nearly three quarters of those who boarded "the beast". Myers survived.     Im berühmten "Llibre Vermell" - dem "roten Buch", das seinen Namen wegen seines roten Samteinbands trägt, finden sich neben liturgischen und theologischen Texten auch Mariengesänge, die neben lateinischen Texten auch solche in Katalanisch und Okzitanisch enthalten. Das Ensemble Kantika stellt hier alle im Llibre Vermell vorhandenen Gesänge vor und kombiniert sie erstmals mit ebenfalls dort als Texte aufgeführten liturgischen Gesängen. Anders als bei bisherigen Einspielungen, ist Kantika spezialisiert auf liturgische Musik und Gregorianik und legt diese Sichtweise auch für seine Interpretation zugrunde: sparsame Instrumentation und stärkerer Schwerpunkt auf dem Gesang, was die herrlichen Frauenstimmen dieses Vokalensembles wunderbar zur Geltung bringt.
