Cain's Wife, Lilith's Daughter , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 57min
The enduring question has been: "Where did Cain get his wife?" The churches have not given an acceptable answer to this question. Their inability to answer this question creates great doubt as to the accuracy of the Bible. More and more Christians are giving up on defending the Bible. It is vitally important for Christians to be able to answer this question because it relates to defending the fact that all humans are descendants of Adam and Eve, and only their descendants can be saved. Cain's wife has been talked about in countries all over the world for hundreds of years. Skeptics of the Bible have used Cain's wife time and again to try to discredit the book of Genesis as a true historical record. This story of Cain's wife is my initial attempt to reconcile the Bible with the undisputable scientific evidence for creative evolution. I have combined four sets of information: The current Bible, the old Bible before the major changes in late BC and early AD, other ancient literature, and the scientific facts of creation/evolution. I try to clarify why the Bible gives two accounts of the creation of Adam and Eve. The Bible actually describes the creation of two women for him. The first was Lilith (Genesis 1:27) but her name was removed from the current Bible. However her name can be seen in the older version of the Bible that existed before later-day changes were made. Eve, Adam's second mate, was created from Adam's rib and her creation is described in Genesis 2:18. Lilith has been systematically removed from the Bible, except for one reference in Isaiah 34:14. Not only was Lilith removed from the Bible, but she was demonized. The facts remain that she did exist and she did have children that are mentioned throughout the ancient literature. At lease one of her daughters was called Lilim. Lilim became Cain's wife. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Alex Hyde-White. The Salt Fix: Why the Experts Got It All Wrong--And How Eating More Might Save Your Life
What if everything you know about salt is wrong? A leading cardiovascular research scientist explains how this vital crystal got a negative reputation, and shows how to lower blood pressure and experience weight loss using salt. The Salt Fix is essential reading for everyone on the keto diet! We've all heard the recommendation: eat no more than a teaspoon of salt a day for a healthy heart. Health-conscious Americans have hewn to the conventional wisdom that your salt shaker can put you on the fast track to a heart attack, and have suffered through bland but "heart-healthy" dinners as a result. What if the low-salt dogma is wrong? Dr. James DiNicolantonio has reviewed more than five hundred publications to unravel the impact of salt on blood pressure and heart disease. He's reached a startling conclusion: The vast majority of us don't need to watch our salt intake. In fact, for most of us, more salt would be advantageous to our nutrition-especially for those of us on the keto diet, as keto depletes this important mineral from our bodies. The Salt Fix tells the remarkable story of how salt became unfairly demonized-a never-before-told drama of competing egos and interests-and took the fall for another white crystal: sugar. According to The Salt Fix, too little salt can: • Make you crave sugar and refined carbs • Send the body into semistarvation mode • Lead to weight gain, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, and increased blood pressure and heart rate But eating the salt you desire can improve everything, from your sleep, energy, and mental focus to your fitness, fertility, and sexual performance. It can even stave off common chronic illnesses, including heart disease. The Salt Fix shows the best ways to add salt back into your diet, offering his transformative five-step program for recalibrating your salt thermostat to achieve your unique, ideal salt intake. Science has moved on from the low-salt dogma, and so should you-your life may depend on it.- Shop: buecher

In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks...: . . . And Other Complaints from an Angry Middle-Aged White Guy, Hörbuch, Digital, 402min
A couple years back, I was at the Phoenix airport bar. It was empty except for one heavy-set, gray bearded, grizzled guy who looked like he just rode his donkey into town after a long day of panning for silver in them thar hills. He ordered a Jack Daniels straight up, and that's when I overheard the young guy with the earring behind the bar asking him if he had ID. At first the old sea captain just laughed. But the guy with the twinkle in his ear asked again. At this point it became apparent that he was serious. Dan Haggerty's dad fired back, 'You've got to be kidding me, son.' The bartender replied, 'New policy. Everyone has to show their ID.' Then I watched Burl Ives reluctantly reach into his dungarees and pull out his military identification card from World War II. It's a sad and eerie harbinger of our times that the Oprah-watching, crystal-rubbing, Whole Foods-shopping moms and their whipped attorney husbands have taken the ability to reason away from the poor schlub who makes the Bloody Marys. What we used to settle with common sense or a fist, we now settle with hand sanitizer and lawyers. Adam Carolla has had enough of this insanity and he's here to help us get our collective balls back. In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks is Adam's comedic gospel of modern America. He rips into the absurdity of the culture that demonized the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, turned the nation's bathrooms into a lawless free-for-all of urine and fecal matter, and put its citizens at the mercy of a bunch of minimum wagers with axes to grind. Peppered between complaints Carolla shares candid anecdotes from his day to day life as well as his past Sunday football at Jimmy Kimmel's house, his attempts to raise his kids in a society that he mostly disagrees with, his big showbiz break, and much, much more. Brilliantly showcasing Adam's spot-on sense of humor, this book cements his status as a cultural commentator/comedian/complainer extraordinaire. Language: English. Narrator: Adam Carolla. American Legends: The Life of John D. Rockefeller , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 78min
The Gilded Age and the dawn of the 20th century are often remembered as an era full of monopolies, trusts, and economic giants in heavy industries like oil and steel. Men like Andrew Carnegie built empires like Carnegie Steel, and financiers like J.P. Morgan merged and consolidated them. The era also made names like Astor, Cooke, and Vanderbilt instantly recognizable across the globe. Over time, the unfathomable wealth generated by the businesses made the individuals on top incredibly rich, and that in turn led to immense criticism and an infamous epithet used to rail against them: robber barons. Dozens of men were called "robber barons", but none were as notorious or rich as John D. Rockefeller, who co-founded Standard Oil and turned it into the first real trust in the United States. Rockefeller had been groomed ambitiously by a huckster father nicknamed "Devil Bill", who was just as willing to cheat his son as an unsuspecting public, and John certainly chased his dreams of living long and large. Rockefeller forged his empire in the first few decades of his life and nearly worked himself to death by the time he was 50, which helped compel him to retire for the last several decades of his life. At one point, Rockefeller's wealth was worth more than 1.5% of the entire country's gross domestic product, and by adjusting for inflation, he is arguably the richest man in American history if not world history. Rockefeller was often demonized for being greedy, and there's no question that he was a capitalist par excellence, if not an outright proponent of Social Darwinism. Rockefeller often asserted that growing a business "is merely a survival of the fittest," and he even bragged, "I have ways of making money that you know nothing of." To charges that he was making his riches off the backbreaking work of others, Rockefeller admitted, "I would rather earn 1% off 100 people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts." ungekürzt. Murder at the Mission: A Frontier Killing, Its Legacy of Lies, and the Taking of the American West
The New York Times bestselling author of Escape From Camp 14 returns with a riveting narrative that traces the truth behnd-and the impact of-a myth that tainted the history of the West In 1847, the missionary Dr. Marcus Whitman, his wife, and eleven others were killed by members of the Cayuse tribe near present-day Walla Walla, Washington. A final response to years of Cayuse frustration with the Whitmans, the event recorded in Western history as the "Whitman Massacre" was a tipping point in American expansion, leading Congress to make the Oregon Country an official U.S. territory. It also became the kernel of a triumphal fiction of Western expansionism peddled by hucksters who would distort the actual history of how the U.S. became a continental nation. Their lie would torment the Cayuse tribe for more than 150 years. The fable's principal author was the Reverend Henry Spalding, a fellow missionary who, for his own personal gain, invented a story that portrayed his slain colleague as a heroic patriot and a Christian martyr. As Spalding told it, before Whitman was killed, he had ridden his horse across the country to Washington, D.C., where he persuaded the president to "save" Oregon from a British and Catholic plot to steal the Northwest away from the United States. Spalding persuaded Congress to endorse and print his myth. It was presented as fact in The New York Times and the Encyclopedia Britannica; and, by the end of the nineteenth century, Marcus Whitman was widely recognized as one of the most significant men in American history. Meanwhile, as the killers of a man now falsely hailed as a national hero, the Cayuses were demonized, hanged, dispossessed, and cheated. Along with two neighboring tribes, they were stripped of nearly all their land and consigned to the Umatilla Reservation in northeast Oregon. In this fascinating, impeccably researched narrative, New York Times bestselling author Blaine Harden traces the origins and effects of a foundational American myth across more than a century. Exposing the self-serving nature of American myth-making, Murder at the Mission reminds us of the dark realities of American expansion and of the lies that can persist when history is told only by victors.
