Produced By John Whitehead. Recorded, Mixed and mastered by David Hedding at Glacier Studios, Minneapolis, MN. Additional guitar tracks recorded by David Tousley at Root Bass Studio, Minneapolis. This project percolated for a long time before completion. I made a first stab at a solo album back in 2006, recording four tracks at Gary Bartig's nordeast Minneapolis studio. Then I hit a wall and lost momentum. I got back on the horse at David Tousely's studio in 2007--completing basic guitar tracks for six tunes but still no cigar. Brian Wilson once said you need two main things to succeed as a songwriter-confidence and persistence. By the time I met David Hedding in 2009, I had gained enough of each and was able to finish the project. I learned an enormous amount doing this collection. I hope I live long enough to make another record. But at the rate I'm cranking them out-don't hold your breath! Thanks to all the musicians who lent their talent to the project: Robin Fox, John Haer, David Hedding, Pete Hennig, John Jenkins, Kip Jones, Nick Jordan, Alec James Knutson, Eric Paulson, Rahjta Ren, Brian Roessler. Das Terzett bestand aus den drei Schwestern LaVerne, Maxene und Patty Marie Andrews. Sie waren die Töchter eines griechischen Restaurantbesitzers, der seinen Namen von Andreos in Andrews geändert hatte. Die drei Mädchen wurden schon früh von der Mutter gefördert. Ab Anfang der 30er Jahre tourten sie quer durch die Vereinigten Staaten. 1937 wurden sie der Plattenfirma Decca vermittelt, wo ihnen schon im ersten Jahr mit Bei mir bist du schön der große Durchbruch gelang und ihnen die erste Goldene Schallplatte einbrachte. Während des 2. Weltkrieges traten die Andrews Sisters im Rahmen der US-Truppenbetreuung auf, was sie auch in Europa bekannt machte. Sie machten zahlreiche Aufnahmen mit Stars der damaligen Zeit, u.a. mit Bing Crosby, Les Paul und Danny Kaye. Patty verließ die Gruppe 1954 wegen einer Solo-Karriere, kehrte jedoch mangels Erfolg 1956 wieder zur Gruppe zurück. Die Andrew Sisters konnten aber nicht mehr an ihre alten Erfolge anknüpfen und das Terzett löste sich schließlich 1966 auf, als LaVerne an Krebs erkrankte. Die Andrew Sisters erhielten insgesamt 9 Goldene Schallplatten und eine Platin-Schallplatte. Sie konnten sich mit 46 Titeln in den amerikanischen Top-Ten platzieren. TRACKS: CD 1: 1.
