Festival Through the Years
This North Carolina group, Croatan High School's Vocal Ensemble, has performed many places in their home state. They are a very accomplished group that has performed in various venues in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, New York City, Philadelphia, Hawaii and even as far as Vienna, Austria. The talent of this group is evident in the awards and kudos that it has received over the past seven years, under the direction of Mrs. Barbara Swigart. Mrs. Swigart has taught vocal and instrumental music grades k-12 for the past 33 years. She has been selected as teacher of the year for the state of North Carolina and Who's Who among high school teachers for the past several years. The group consistently receives a Superior rating in performance and in Sight Singing at their State Festivals held each spring. Croatan High School houses 800 students in a semi-rural area of the coast of North Carolina. Some of their students live at the beach while others live as much as 30 minutes away from Emerald Isle. The seniors of this group have been together since sixth grade where Mrs. Swigart organized an after school choir program at their middle school. The school colors are black and gold and the mascot is the cougar. The school has placed in the top 10 schools academically in the state of North Carolina for the past 3 years. The students in this group are active in Student Government, FFA, Interact Club, Improv Club, Writers Guild, Science Olympiad, Quiz Bowl, Math Counts, Photography Club, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Volleyball, LaCrosse, Cheerleading among other things. Many of these students also have high academic standing in their class to include the Valedictorian for 2008. Each year the majority of this group is involved in the all-school musical and as you can imagine, many of them are cast in leading roles. They have produced "Hello, Dolly!", "Guys and Dolls," "Cinderella," and "Thoroughly Modern Millie." This CD was a culmination of years of Festival Music. The group worked for 6 months to get their music ready to record while they had other major concerts and performances to complete. We hope you enjoy the variety of selections.- Shop: odax

Bustin Loose
***Bill Locey of the LA Times rated this CD in the top 12 independent releases in 1999*** 'A powerful blues statement laden with rock-star level guitar solos.' Bill Locey, LA Times Teresa Russell is without question the finest female blues/rocker that I have heard. She is a legitimate blues/rock triple threat in that she is an excellent vocalist, intensely personal songwriter, and an emotionally charged and powerful electric guitarist. Tom Branson, Music Reviewer, Bluesrockers. Ws Teresa Russell....That woman can rock! Good Morning LA, Fox TV Teresa, is the only female to ever qualify' in the top eight' for the national finals in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's lead guitar competition. Competing with over 2000 guitarists across the country, she accomplished this by winning the West regional in Los Angeles where she received 'out-of-seat-thumbs-up' kudos from such Grammy award, celebrity judges/guitarists as Steve Lukather (Toto) and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol). Teresa was playing on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood by the age of 12. With heroes like Hendrix and Clapton guiding her creative path, she rocked regularly at Gazzari's and the Whiskey A-Go-Go during a time when all of Hollywood was checkin' out those two bars. TV appearances followed as well as a movie called 'The Young Graduates.' Then, after attending Californian State University on a guitar scholarship, she hit the road to further season her rock chops in countless roadhouse bars throughout the western U.S. Touring the world with Helen Reddy throughout the late 80's, she was often seen on both live TV and at major concert venues. Teresa has now come full circle back to her Hendrix and Clapton roots, pulverizing agressive blues-rock guitar within a power-trio format. Her vocal style has been compared to such divas as Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge, and Bonnie Raitt, but she combines a rock-hard edge with a supple warmth that quickly distinguishes her voice as uniquely her own. Coco Roussel came to the USA in 1980 from Paris, France. Establishing residence in Washington, D.C., he performed with such notable acts as Clearlight Symphony, Happy the Man, Michael Manring, and David Arkenstone, among others. Coco moved to Los Angeles in 1990, playing with such R & B acts as Jeannie Tatum and Carol Diamond. After searching for a more improvisational attitude, he found a musical home with TR&CB. Billi Breland moved to LA in 1982 from the Mississippi Delta. Playing bass and contributing vocals, he has since toured, recorded, and performed on live TV and radio with such artists as The Original Blues Prophets, Helen Reddy, Alan Thicke, and the jazz group, Pocket Change. He produced the top-40 European hit, 'Tear Down The Wall,' for Joe Esposito. Billi met Teresa when both were touring the world as supporting musicians with Helen Reddy, celebrating post-concert euphoria in bars from San Francisco, CA to Beijing, China. He joined forces withTeresa in 1998 to co-write, co-produce, and pursue the energy, integrity, and exposed truth of an aggressive blues/rock sound.- Shop: odax

My Father's Hat
Produced By John Whitehead. Recorded, Mixed and mastered by David Hedding at Glacier Studios, Minneapolis, MN. Additional guitar tracks recorded by David Tousley at Root Bass Studio, Minneapolis. This project percolated for a long time before completion. I made a first stab at a solo album back in 2006, recording four tracks at Gary Bartig's nordeast Minneapolis studio. Then I hit a wall and lost momentum. I got back on the horse at David Tousely's studio in 2007--completing basic guitar tracks for six tunes but still no cigar. Brian Wilson once said you need two main things to succeed as a songwriter-confidence and persistence. By the time I met David Hedding in 2009, I had gained enough of each and was able to finish the project. I learned an enormous amount doing this collection. I hope I live long enough to make another record. But at the rate I'm cranking them out-don't hold your breath! Thanks to all the musicians who lent their talent to the project: Robin Fox, John Haer, David Hedding, Pete Hennig, John Jenkins, Kip Jones, Nick Jordan, Alec James Knutson, Eric Paulson, Rahjta Ren, Brian Roessler. Special thanks to Deb Carlson, an amazing singer, harmonizer and friend. Ditto to the Blue Yodel N0. 9 boys-Stew Lelievre, Scott Washburn and John Haer for putting up with me and supporting my music. Thanks to Gary Bartig and David Tousely for lending their ears. Merci, Mr. Roland Trenary for lyric editing on "Pygmy Bone". Kudos to my online friends at Macjams.com, especially John Jenkins (Woofer John) for piano on "Original Sin". Muchas gracias to David Hedding who brings so much to the table with his musicianship, Buddha-like calm, and painterly approach toward sound. Finally... thanks to Suzanne, my skippin'stone, for her unconditional love and support. There's still lovin' enough.- Shop: odax

My Life's Reflection
This new project is one that I'm so grateful for. I've got my husband Leonard doing spoken word, Chris Jr. my recording/mixing/drum programming engineer and Chris Sr. my bass player personified! I'm also thanking and giving kudos to my nephew Nick Jones who provided 2 songs on this album, the music and it's instrumentation. Thank you Nick! Thanks to my family/friend singers, my brother Glen for spoken word, and my nephew Ross for his mellow singing voice. My niece Briannon and Cousin Antwanequa provided some soulful singing on Passing on Jesus to the next Gen. I'll describe a few songs on this album but pray you listen to ALL of them. Be Blessed! SOng one is a song of love sung to the Lord as He is SO wonderful. The word 'SO' denotes 'intense feeing toward' where in this song I want the world to know how 'Awesome' God is to me. The album moves to 'Living in the light' and it's message is to encourage Believers to stay on the Lord's side and do our best to walk in His way. Then I reflect on times past and current in 'My Life Reflection' the title song . I endeavor to be what the Lord requires me to be in my everyday walk. Jesus Gives Me Joy is a song my nephew Nick Jones composed the music. He is a genius with beats and now he's added more keyboard skills. Chris Jr. added some extra production touches that blow you away along with soulful singing by nephew Ross Jordan. Wake up with a praise on your lips as 'Morning Jesus'thanks the Lord for one more day. With the commitment we've made to the Lord, 'Jesus I love you I do' just seals it and has you patting your feet and clapping your hands as you exclaim your love for HIM. The spunky 'Thank You' gets you on your feet! Getting married, proclaim your love for your soul mate with 'I love you'. My parents taught me about Jesus a long time ago so this song 'Passing on Jesus to the next Generation' extends my beliefs and life style to my nieces, nephews, Godchildren, etc. Last but not least, 'Run to HIm' is an instrumental we play at altar call at Greater Memorial B.C. featuring the bass sounds of Chris Johnson Sr. The message of this album is when all else fails Jesus never does!- Shop: odax

Miracle Morning
Warren Bloom is one of America's premiere musical Renaissance men. A singer songwriter, percussionist and harmonica player, he has penned, performed and recorded songs in many musical genres: Ballads, Reggae, Folk, Country, Hard Rock and Classic Rock and Roll. Bloom's first album was as a member of 'The Facedancers' on Paramount Records. The album was produced by Teo Macero, The legendary producer of Miles Davis. Hall and Oates played on and produced Bloom's rendition of 'Natural Sinner' on Jamie Records. His original song 'Bonfire' was preformed live by Pat Benatar. Through out his career, Warren has garnered an amazing array of kudos from his peers. Darryl Hall said, ' You sing better than me!' No less a luminary than Lou Reed said 'You really know how to sing the ballads, and that's the hardest thing to do.' Pat Benatar remarked, 'You remind me of Bob Dylan, your style is so original.' Jim Quinn of the Philadelphia Inquirer wrote, ' Warren Bloom can do anything with his voice, and apparently isn't afraid to try. It's nice to hear some sing in his own voice.' All of which could make anyone's ego soar into the ozone, but Bloom is also considered to be one of the nicest guys in the Big Apple by his many friends. Warren Bloom grew up in Fairfield CT, where he was a state high school tennis champion and voted his high school's 'class clown.' He graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in communications. He played in rock bands throughout college, and then moved to Philadelphia obtaining a Master Degree in communications at Temple University. When he wasn't hitting the books, he was hitting musical heights performing with Philadelphia's legendary comedy rock band Lobotomy. The group preformed live at the' Electric Factory', 'The Bijou' and 'The Mercer Art Center in NYC.' The group changed their name to 'The Face Dancers' and recorded an album that is now a collector's item on the Internet. Bloom was the lead singer and co-wrote all the songs. The group was featured on several radio and television shows. Moving to N.Y.C., Bloom rocked out regularly at Catch a Rising Star, The Bitter End and the Village Gate. He is a two-time winner of ASCAP's performance award. His first solo album ' Thanks For the Fantasy' came out on 'Rocking Chair Records' in 1996. His new album ' Miracle Morning' was released in 2002. The album features twelve original Bloom tunes and the Bloom Band.- Shop: odax
