Überall auf der Welt kommen bei Protesten immer wieder reale Körper ? egal, welcher Ethnizität, welchen Geschlechts, welchen Alters und welcher sexuellen Orientierung ? auf den Straßen zusammen, um gemeinsam gegen das Machtmonopol eines Staates zu kämpfen. Wenn es um die Unterdrückung dieses zivilen Widerstands geht, zeigt der Autoritarismus verschiedene Gesichter und wendet vielfältige Strategien an, die bis zu brutaler Gewalt reichen. Eine Gemeinsamkeit autoritärer Regime ist ihre Angst vor Versammlungen ? vor den tanzenden, singenden und kämpfenden Körpern ?, als würden sie diese für die kraftvollste Waffe halten. Doch sind sie das tatsächlich?Unter welchen Umständen siegen derartige Proteste, die sich gewaltsamen Methoden verweigern? Was erreichen sie? Fortschritt, einen anhaltenden Prozess oder Rückschritt? Wo liegt ihr Ausgangspunkt, und was ist ihr endgültiges Ziel? Wie lässt sich die Spannung zwischen der Praxis der friedlichen Proteste und ihren utopischen Horizonten erfassen? Gemeinsam mit den Gesprächsteilnehmer:innen werden diese Fragen in Hinblick auf unterschiedliche Weltgegenden und politische Systeme diskutiert.________________________________________________________________________________________It is the real bodies of different races, genders, ages and sexual orientations that go to the streets and gather together in different places around the world, fighting for power against the monopoly of the state. Authoritarianism has various faces and strategies for the suppression of civic protests, with brutal violence at the extreme end of the spectrum. One thing authoritarian regimes have in common is the fear of people gatherings ? of the bodies that dance, sing and fight ? as if it is the most powerful weapon. Is it?When do these protests, which refuse violent methods, win? What do they result in ? progress, a process or regress? What is their starting point, and what is their final destination? How can this tension between the praxis of peaceful protests and their utopian horizons be grasped? Together with the speakers, we will reflect upon these and other questions from the perspective of different geographies and political systems.
