Burn in Hell: Fortune Academy Underworld, Episode 1 , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 25min, (USK 18)
If I don’t find an outlet for this rage, I’m going to lose my shit.Lily is off-limits. Ever since we got back to Fortune Academy, it’s been too dangerous to get anywhere near her. For her sake, I keep my distance. The rage demon that’s corrupted our mate-circle has gotten under my skin…and he knows it.* * *Dante “Are you feeling sorry for yourself again?” a male voice teased, filtering into the room as the Dark Mage walked right past my wards.“Go away, Hendrik,” I growled. Hendrik stepped out of the shadows as he peeled off his coat. “I could use another session,” he said, grinning as he gave the offer to spar a double-meaning. “Last time was a mistake,” I snapped as I went back to the vampire stake I was working on. I sliced my dagger over the tip, sending a tendril of wood falling to the ground. “We’re just being influenced by the demon.”“I kind of like it,” he admitted as he ran his fingers over the weapons on the wall. He glanced at me when he picked a short fighting stick. “Do you think you can beat me this time?”A grin spread across my face as the thrill of violence surged through me. I took on his taunt, wasting no time with my attack, but the Dark Mage was ready for me and shoved me hard enough against the wall to snap a rib. I released a breath and went still, letting the bone knit back into one piece.“Do you feel it?” he asked, his breath hot on my cheek.“I…don’t know what you’re talking about,” I lied. My strength had its limits and the Dark Mage knew it. I needed time to regenerate, or magic. Neither of which I had access to right now.He continued to wear me out, forcing me to strain against him to catch tiny gulps of air to stay conscious.“Concede, or I won’t be able to stop,” he warned. The dark edge of his voice said he needed one of two things right now to take off the demon’s edge. Murder…or sex, and I had a feeling I knew which o ungekürzt. Language: English. Alice and Friends , Hörbuch, Digital, ungekürzt, 353min
At a carnival spook ride, young women vanish, never to be seen again. On a dark Texas road, women disappear after being stranded and then saved by friendly Texans. Alice is one of the women who have been shackled and hand cuffed in a basement where she and her new friends are tortured physically and emotionally to force them into compliance with their new family.Deciding to fight the brainwashing and misery, Alice uses her own smarts to hold on to her sanity, but as her friends go upstairs with the men and never return, she is forced to concede that she might not make it out alive. While the rapes, mutilation, and beatings are bad, Alice discovers that there is something far worse awaiting her. As a tribute to the writing of Richard Laymon, Alice and Friends is the story of human survival, the depth of insanity, and festering secrets. If you think you know what's going on with Alice, you had better guess again because even Alice is finding out secrets about herself...ones that mean the difference between saving herself and vanishing into nothingness. Note from author: Alice is a highly unusual novel. I somehow touched a few genres. There is a mystery here for sure, a psychological aspect (okay, it's chilling, who are we kidding), blatant horror, a cannibal or two, family ties, a nod to horror master Richard Laymon, a snicker and hint about the Z is for Zombie series (but is not part of the series at all, but fans of the series will find a huge clue to the series mysteries embedded in this book) and it's a thriller. I feel this is a book that once you hear, you'll want to go back and hear again just to see all the clues given all along as to where this was headed. It's a rollercoaster and I never, ever lie, but ummm...well, I may not tell the listener everything up front...hee hee. What is more fun than those first sharp turns and spins on a coaster? It's having them at the end...one after another...wham, wham, wham....blinding s ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Carlie Williams, Jr.. The Man From U.N.C.L.E.: The Complete Series
All four seasons (105 episodes) on 41 discs - Rarely seen color pilot episode, "Solo" - U.N.C.L.E. theatrical feature One Spy Too Many - Actors: Robert Vaughn, David McCallum, Leo G. Carroll / For a lot of years, from the 1980's until around 2007, the TV series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (1964-1968) had a frustrating history on home video. The program, which kicked off a wave of breezily-paced spy series (I Spy etc.), was available on a limited basis on VHS tape in the 1980's, and - restricted to a narrow sliver of mostly poorly chosen episodes - on laserdiscs in the 1990's. It was originally supposed to appear on DVD in 2005, but then a dispute broke out between the owners of the series, Warner Home Video, and a production company claiming that it had the DVD rights to the series. By that time, series star Robert Vaughn had even done some work for the alleged rights holder, in terms of interviews, and the whole mess ended up in court, where it was sorted out in 2007. And now we have this set - originally available only through Time Warner - 41 DVDs containing the complete run of the series, appended with a pair of contemporary feature film adaptations of the show, plus a ton of bonus features. It's enough to keep even those with lots of time on their hands busy for months. The film-to-video transfers are generally first-rate, although surprisingly, the oldest programs - the black-and-white first season episodes - are far more consistent and satisfying than the three seasons (well, two-and-a-half seasons) of color episodes that follow. It's difficult to say for certain, without having been at the transfer sessions, but the clarity of the full-screen (1.33-to-1) transfers seems to show up some of less satisfying elements of the color photography on the later episodes (except where color scheme was an essential component of a shot or scene). In one second season episode, the second unit footage of Swiss and Italian locales looks superb here, whereas the actual scene photography seems flat and dullish by comparison. In fairness, one must concede that color television shooting was relatively new in the years 1965-66, and even beyond - it was also horrendously expensive by the standards of the time, which often resulted in corners (or attention to detail) being cut in some instances, even on hit series. And it should also be said, in regard to the photographers involved, that no one in 1965 could ever have conceived of the notion that anyone would be examining their work on this series on this level, in digital video, in 2009, at the time, they probably figured that if the stuff was rerun for as few as a half-dozen times, that would be pushing their useful shelf life.- Shop: odax

Pianist Constance Keene Plays Music of Chopin Rachmaninoff MacDowell
The Audiophile Audition wrote of this CD 'Keene had the Chopin style thoroughly at her command.....(In the Third Ballade of Chopin) when Keene turns up the velocity, the potent agogics make known their jarring, intensely visceral effect, and we simply concede the brilliant authority of her conception as she rushes the barricades at the coda.....We realize why Keene made an excellent substitute for Vladimir Horowitz on one historic occasion, and the pent-up applause acknowledges it.' A significant figure for many years in the musical life of New York (and, indeed, a life-long resident of the city) was the pianist, Constance Keene (1921-2005). A glamorous and elegant lady, diminutive but with a very big personality she was, from 1969 till her death, one of the most prominent members of the piano faculty of the Manhattan School of Music, as well as a juror at major piano competitions. Outspoken, articulate and brilliant she was also a more important pianist than has been generally recognized. Her long career included concerts all over the United States, Europe and, in later years, Asia. She performed as soloist with orchestras in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, New York and Berlin, and in many other cities. She made many recordings throughout her career, resulting in a very large and wide-ranging discography, and was particularly praised by critics for one of her last recording projects, the complete Piano Sonatas of Hummel. Constance Keene was held in the highest esteem by some of her most distinguished colleagues. About her recording of the complete Rachmaninoff Preludes Arthur Rubinstein wrote "I cannot imagine anybody, including Rachmaninoff himself, playing the Preludes more beautifully. I was completely flabbergasted by the fantastic sweep, color, tone, and, last but not least, the incredible technique." Of course, it was with great pleasure that she liked to tell people that when her friend, Vladimir Horowitz, first heard that recording, and saw what Rubinstein had written, he said "But why didn't you give it to me first? I would have happily written that!" This live recital, which also includes Ms. Keene's comments about some parts of the program, demonstrates her virtuosity, elegance, sense of humor and her impressive temperament. As pianist, writer and radio personality David Dubal said about her, at a 2003 program at the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York dedicated to a summing up of her career "Constance Keene is not just a major pianist or a prominent pianist or a distinguished pianist, she is a GREAT pianist!"- Shop: odax

Reelsounds
Light Silver Automatic's 'Reelsounds' is a tightly knit audio sweater comprised of warm singles for the grab-and-go crowd yet satisfying sonic spokes through the album wheel that will satisfy the full-album listener. Written on piano, guitar, and with voice, the songs are immediately hummable and deceivingly implacable in their pursuit of 37 minutes of gripping rock-pop love growls. 'Reelsounds' was written and created within the cozy confines of Full Bright Life Music studios as the result of numerous marinations, stewings, sonic explorations, and lyrical and musical ruminations. It was then recorded on 24-track analog tape at Reelsounds Chicago recording studio in Skokie, Illinois, and then mastered at Caffeinated Recordings, Chicago, Illinois. Five and Three If you find a way to calm me down Could you be troubled to let me know? Whenever I've wanted to say That I would not give you away You couldn't be bothered with me Having heard it all so frequently Yet you must think of this As something more, so much more, than coincidence So whenever I want to say That I will not give you away You will be bothered with me Your preference means nothing in reality The last image I always see Is you glowing while floating away from me So if you find that you have a string Will you allow me to pull it in? Because what you already may know I just have never outgrown The need to be standing alone Yet calling out for someone The last image I always see Is you glowing while floating away from me Just when I thought I was gaining ground Turns out I was always upside down Sunslip In a sundrenched season of discovery The status quo became so slippery Through too many cracks of the eggshell It all ended although it did not end at all And if you don't understand that don't even try There's no reason to think it through No matter your path here this is your life Now, what are you going to do? I think I'll set awhile And examine each and every denial Break them down to the molecules To determine how I could have discarded you And if you never forgive me I will understand I won't need to think it through No matter your path here this is your life You will do what you need to do While I'll be about getting really close and spending the most Of every single second that I have left in this life just being honest I know it's the best policy although it hasn't always seemed To have worked out that way for me but there I go being selfish If it were only as easy as imagining We would be doing more than clinging To the idea of slipping through the sun stream And reaching through to the reality of you and me And if you don't understand me you don't need to lie After all that we've been through No matter our paths here these are our lives Now, what are we going to do? I will be about getting really close and spending the most Of every single second that I have left in this life just being honest I know it's the best policy although it hasn't always seemed To have worked out that way for me but I wanna be done being selfish The Purple Case My will is stronger now that I've seen just how this would end With you here and me there no matter that we're friends The spill that we're wiping down is not as large as you think If only you believed me you might not lose more sleep You call to me again for chemistry As if it were made in a tube But I say some things evolve only naturally, if they do The feel of an open mind responding in kind with the wind Can truly set you free from the cracking soul within You come to me again for certainty as if it were us who can choose But I say some things evolve only naturally - win or lose You turn to me again for chemistry as if it were made in a tube But I say some things evolve only naturally, this will, too My will is stronger now that I've seen just how this would end Our fill that we're pining for may not be much more than a guess Yet only with hands and rings can we clarify the rest Mesh Just to call you down here Could make it all crystal clear These things tend to unify she tells me We should hold on Never been much with delivery, baby So what would I know Never seem satisfied lately You're here but I'm alone Wish you heard what I hear sweet thing When the wind doesn't blow Think once with the other's mind We cannot live without the light No more sight through covered eyes Prepare to fly Just to call you my friend If there's a God then God bless Balancing with our arms stretched way out wide Calm breathing as we rocket on our glide Believing in spacetime as our only guide We're landing with no concern in our eyes Now resting with total comfort in our lives The Universe Through Which We Fly Yesterday I was running But it seems today I'm slowing down What so many moons had covered I've allowed myself to rediscover, although it was never gone Around my fractured heart There is bound no small part of you Directly on a mission I concede I don't really know With you meshed with me so very deeply Where could I ever really go? Around my fractured heart There is bound more than a little part of you . . . . . . and our way of saying next to nothing But communicating all that it meant to be, all that it means to be with you Around my fractured heart There is bound every single part of you Bubbling Onward Nothing more, nothing less I confess this is all You can say whatever you want dear Just don't give yourself away Reaching for a catalyst The one I missed through the door You can say whatever you want dear Just don't give yourself away You can feel whatever you want here But it doesn't change what we say Most of all, please recall We can enjoy the silence Ghosts Halls of discomfort are watching Pressing close Forming a circle of gestures Revealing what troubles the host After all we are at the most Steadily fading from our lives into ghosts Thinking of simpler lives Once covered with hope Traded for whispers and lies Now behind the embers that rose After all we are at the most Steadily fading from our lives into ghosts Supra Instanter With a hum watch him run toward you Even though all you ever do Is turn around with a frown As with the others who dared pass through Every moment begins the same Unfiltered and unrestrained Until it leaves the brain and enters the waves Traveling through the air Watch him loft one up for you Which you love for him to do All the colors surrounding you Trend toward shades of black and blue Battered and tired yet opening wide Grasping for something new Watch him loft one up for you Which you love for him to do The devil he comes to prey On those who continue to sway Indecision is not the way To put an end to his- Shop: odax
