An Ayahuasca Journey within the series The Shamanic Quest is a report of my Ayahuasca voyage in 2004 to Ecuador, where I was drinking the sacred brew in the presence of an experienced Shuar shaman.I erect the hypothesis that when the traditional Ayahuasca brew is ingested, it is not, or not directly, the plant’s DMT that causes the spiritual voyage, as it is assumed in the overwhelming part of the literature on shamanism and entheogens, but the shaman’s superconsciousness impacting upon the consciousness of the shaman’s client, the seeker of truth who comes to drink the brew. I explain in this book the various theories of causation, report my own Ayahuasca experience in all detail, and cite the few research results from other consciousness researchers (Narby, Leadbeater, Villoldo) that seem to corroborate my hypothesis. My hypothesis is that the shaman’s directed superconscious intent impacts on the plant’s consciousness matrix and uses this matrix as a transmitting and amplifying agent of his powerful thought forms. I call this a multi-causative theory of causation versus the reigning single-causative theory that holds it was solely the plant’s or the brew’s DMT that causes the consciousness-altering effects. I also bring forth evidence from the experience itself that appears to strongly corroborate my conclusions. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Peter Fritz Walter. Consciousness and Shamanism is the result of the author's Ayahuasca voyage in 2004 to Ecuador, where he was drinking the sacred brew in the presence of an experienced Shuar shaman. He puts up the hypothesis that when the traditional Ayahuasca brew is ingested, it is not, or not directly, the plant's DMT that causes the spiritual voyage as it is assumed in the overwhelming part of the literature on shamanism and entheogens. It is the shaman's super-consciousness impacting directly upon the consciousness of the shaman's client, the seeker of truth who comes to drink the brew. The author explains in this report the various theories of causation, reports his own Ayahuasca experience in all detail, and cites the few research results from other consciousness researchers (Narby, Leadbeater, Villoldo) who seem to corroborate his hypothesis. He brings forth other examples that sustain his theory, taken from former experiences with Filipino spiritual healers, homeopathy, medical hypnosis, and Bach flower treatment. The author counters the plant chemistry causation theorists with the possibility, and even probability, that the shaman's directed superconscious intent impacts first on the plant's consciousness matrix and uses this matrix as a transmitting and amplifying agent of his powerful thought forms. This might be accomplished in practice via the creation, by thought energy, of elementals that in last resort effect the alteration of the client's consciousness during the trance. The author calls this a multi-causative theory of causation versus the reigning single-causative theory that holds it was solely the plant's or the brew's DMT that causes the consciousness-altering effects. He also brings forth evidence from the experience itself that appears to strongly corroborate his conclusions. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Peter Fritz Walter. The assassination of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, continues to inspire interest ranging from well-meaning speculation to bizarre conspiracy theories and controversial filmmaking. But in this landmark audiobook, reissued with a new afterword for the 40th anniversary of the assassination, Gerald Posner examines all of the available evidence and reaches the only possible conclusion: Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. There was no second gunman on the grassy knoll. The CIA was not involved. And although more than four million pages of documents have been released since Posner first made his case, they have served only to corroborate his findings. Case Closed remains the classic account against which all books about JFK's death must be measured. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Scott Aiello. The concept of justice and what constitutes "just" behavior has been a topic of philosophical conversation for centuries. Indeed, famed Greek philosopher Plato made it the very focus of his 10-book epic The Republic, in which he endeavored not only to give a working definition of the word "justice", but also to provide examples of justice in society, in the city-states, and in humankind. What exactly is it that causes people to act in a just manner? What is the impetus for a city-state or a society to act justly, and is the definition of justice a one-size-fits-all notion? Plato sought to answer all of these questions while simultaneously seeking evidence from the time period to corroborate his responses. The Republic is written in the form of a Socratic dialogue. In it, Socrates and other prominent figures of ancient philosophy are involved in conversations regarding these topics. This was an extremely popular genre of the time and exposed the ideologies of the philosophical greats of the time. Through these dialogues, Plato nears the end of his quest and muses that the proper upkeep of "justice" comes through the education of the citizens and the good standing of political figures as role models. ungekürzt. I counted as spoil 27,280 people, together with their chariots, and gods, in whom they trusted. I formed a unit with 200 of [their] chariots for my royal force. I settled the rest of them in the midst of Assyria. I repopulated Samaria more than before. I brought into it people from countries conquered by my hands. I appointed my commissioner as governor over them, and I counted them as Assyrians. - Sargon II, Assyrian king In the eighth century BCE, one of the most important provinces within the Assyrian Empire was Samaria. Also known as Israel, Samaria repeatedly rebelled against their Assyrian overlords, but in 722, the Assyrians overran Samaria once and for all, killing countless numbers and sending most of the rest of its inhabitants into forced exile. The events of Samaria's fall were chronicled in the Assyrian annals from the reign of Sargon II and the Old Testament, and although the two sources present the event from different perspectives, they corroborate each other for the most part and together present a reliable account of the situation. The end result was that 30,000 Israelites were forcibly deported from the region, a tactic the Assyrians found so effective that they would continue to use it against other conquered enemies until the fall of their own empire. The Assyrians' forced exile of the Israelites was not the only time such a fate had befallen them, as made clear by Babylonian accounts and the Biblical account of the Exodus out of Egypt, but it was that exile that permanently scattered most of the legendary 12 tribes of Israel, and the fate of the 10 lost tribes has interested people ever since. ungekürzt.
